The field supervision for follow-up on the current status of selected child development programs in the Wanathawilluwa Divisional Secretariat Division in Puttalam District, was conducted on October 10th and 11th, 2025. This was carried out by the Planning and Information Technology Division of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, focusing on several programs implemented by the Ministry.

During this process, follow-up was also done on programs implemented by the Ministry for preschool children and teachers, as well as on a program carried out in 2024 by the Ministry aimed at child protection, care, and safeguarding child rights.

Assessments were conducted for identified children and their families. These assessments revealed issues related to children's birth certificates, barriers to continuous school education, family protection needs, and economic empowerment requirements. It is expected that rapid and integrated measures will be taken to address these identified needs.

Furthermore, through the guidance of the Puttalam District Secretary, resourceful contributions were obtained from the District Child Rights Promotion Officer.

In conjunction with the National Celebration of World Children's Day, an umbrella prepared in collaboration with the Clean Sri Lanka Program was also distributed to each child, while informing them about the relevant programs

The Foundation for Innovative Social Development provided awareness sessions as part of these activities, receiving high-quality positive feedback from the children.
