The Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Hon. Saroja Savithri Paulraj, along with the Sri Lankan delegation, participated in the 3rd Lifaka Lecture, held on the margins of the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference.
This year’s lecture, conducted with the generous contribution of The Prime Minister of Barbados, Hon. Mia Amor Mottley, SC, MP, focused mainly on parliaments’ role in protecting democracy as well as the ongoing impact of climate change on small island states.
The Lifaka Lecture series of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association was launched in 2023 in memory of the late Hon. Emilia Monjowa Lifaka, former Chairperson of the CPA International Executive Committee and Deputy Speaker of Cameroon.
The event was attended by Commonwealth Parliamentary delegates as well as specially invited guests in Bridgetown.
