"Nurture with love – to lead the world"
National Celebration of World Children's Day - 2025
The declared National Children's Day Week by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs concluded with the National Celebration of World Children's Day today, 1st of October at Temple Trees.
The event, held under the patronage of Hon. Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, consisted of several items, including the release of the World Children's Day stamp and first-day cover, the release of the "KSHEMA BHOOMI” a literary collection compiled from the competition organized by the Department of Probation and Child Care Services in parallel with World Children's Day, the assessment of the talents of the winners of the "Situvili Sittham" art competition organized by the National Child Protection Authority, and an activity-based program for the children and much more.
The event, which was held in the company of beloved children, was attended by the Honorable Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Mrs. Saroja Savitri Paulraj , the Honorable Deputy Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Dr. (Mr.) Namal Sudarshana, women MPs representing the Women's Parliamentary Caucus, diplomatic representatives, including ambassadors representing many countries, government officials, and civil society activists.
