"Save with love - we can win the world"
Today (23), 2025, a press conference to raise awareness among media personnel and the public regarding the National Week of World Children’s Day was organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.
At this event, it was announced that, as approved by the Cabinet of Ministers a few days ago, the week from 25th September 2025 to 1st October 2025 will be declared as the National Week of Children’s Day. It was also highlighted that, during this week, the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, together with other ministries and institutions working for the benefit of children, will implement a series of week-long programs.
This week should not merely be a week to celebrate children, but also one to draw closer to children with love—something that can be regarded as a timely responsibility of all Sri Lankan citizens.
The press conference, held at the Department of Government Information, was attended by Hon. Saroja Savitri Paulraj, Minister of Women and Child Affairs; Hon. Dr. Namal Sudarshana, State Minister of Women and Child Affairs; Mr. S.P.C. Sugishwara, Additional Secretary to the President (Clean Sri Lanka); Ms. Nilmini Herath, Additional Secretary (Development), Ministry of Women and Child Affairs; Ms. Subashini Kahatapitiya, Director (Planning), Ministry of Women and Child Affairs; and Ms. Sandareka Liyanage, Assistant Commissioner, Department of Probation and Child Care Services.
