World Children’s Day National Cerebration-2025

Sri Lanka celebrates World Children's Day every year on 01st October under the guidance of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. This year, the national theme for World Children's Day is "Nurture with Love – To lead the World".

Accordingly, arrangements have been made to hold the national celebration on 01.10.2025 at Temple Trees under the patronage of the Hon. Prime Minister with about 700 participants, including 350 children and invited guests.

Furthermore, in parallel with the aforementioned national celebration, it has been planned to declare a National Children’s Week from September 25 to October 01. Arrangements have also been made to hold a series of joint programmes in collaboration with direct stakeholders related to the children's affairs, during that week.

The series of World Children's Day programmes will help to create a more sensitive and child-friendly society.
